Call handling
Setting Boundaries When Callers Ask for a Price Quote
Help assistants share approved price information without inventing estimates, overlooking conditions, or presenting a range as a promise.
Classify what the caller is requesting
Determine whether the caller needs a published price, a general range, or a tailored quote. Confirm the service, location, quantity, timing, and other approved qualifiers. Avoid collecting details that the quote process does not require.
Use only current approved language
Read prices from the controlled source and include required conditions such as taxes, minimums, assessment, availability, or expiration. Do not convert an old invoice into a current quote or imply that a starting price is the caller's final total.
Route tailored decisions to an owner
When the request exceeds the assistant's authority, summarize the relevant facts, preferred contact method, and requested timing for the estimator or sales owner. State the review window and avoid promising approval, discounts, or inventory.
Quality checks should compare call statements with the price source version active at that time. If assistants repeatedly face the same unanswered qualifier, update the source rather than relying on personal memory.
